I have always found lists comforting. That is what drew me to Psalm 148, which in some ways reads as a list of all manners of people, elements, plants, and heavenly beings praising their creator. This work was the first place winner in the amateur choir category of Rocky Mountain Chamber Choir's inaugural composition competition.

    Lyrics:

Fire, hail, snow, stormy winds obeying his words, praise!
Beasts and all cattle, creeping things and flying fowl, praise!
Young men and maidens, old men and children, praise!
Mountains and all hills, fruitful trees and cedars, praise!
Kings of the earth, and all people, praise ye the Lord!
Princes, and all judges of the earth, praise Him in the heights!
Praise ye Him all his angels, praise ye Him all his hosts!
Praise him sun and moon, praise Him all ye stars of light!
Praise Him, heavens of heavens, and ye waters above the heavens!
Praise ye the Lord from the earth, ye dragons and deeps!
Let them praise the name of the Lord, for His name is excellent!
